{"id":183,"date":"2021-04-03T22:43:22","date_gmt":"2021-04-04T04:43:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.writingforlife.net\/?p=183"},"modified":"2025-10-04T08:27:56","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T14:27:56","slug":"3-ways-to-save-time-but-please-dont","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.writingforlife.net\/index.php\/2021\/04\/03\/3-ways-to-save-time-but-please-dont\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Ways to Save Time (But Please Don\u2019t)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We can all use more time in our lives, can\u2019t we?&nbsp; Between school, potentially work, writing, and who knows what other activities, life is busy.&nbsp; Fortunately, there are ways you can find more time without having to cut anything major out of your schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-newsletterglue-group\">\n<p>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.writingforlife.net\/?p=183\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">3 Ways to Save Time (But Please Don&#8217;t)<\/a> to keep reading!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-newsletterglue-group\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Stop eating.<\/strong>\u00a0 You\u2019ll gain approximately an hour or two per day this way (more if you cook your own meals).\u00a0 True, it\u2019s terrible for your health, and your thinking ability is going to suffer for it.\u00a0 But hey, if what you\u2019re doing instead is more important.\u00a0 As an added bonus, this guarantees that you won\u2019t get crumbs in your computer keyboard.<\/li><li><strong>Give up personal hygiene.<\/strong>\u00a0 Are you the type to take thirty-minute showers because that\u2019s where you get all your writing inspiration or other cool thoughts?\u00a0 Consider stopping this habit.\u00a0 That\u2019s one short reading assignment a day you just gained.\u00a0 Just don\u2019t forget to stock up on deodorant first, please.<\/li><li><strong>Stop sleeping.<\/strong>\u00a0 Yes, you\u2019ll have beta-amyloid build-up in your brain that might be related to dementia later in life (source: my intro psych course). You won\u2019t learn or remember anything very well (or even at all depending on how much you cut,) thereby making your all-night exam study session a pointless waste of time.\u00a0 Plus, your general ability to handle life in a coherent manner will drop \u2013 but that\u2019s another six or more hours a day you can get work done.\u00a0 What are you waiting for?\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Okay, moving on to a totally serious paragraph for a moment.\u00a0 The problem is, your brain needs time to decompress once in a while \u2014 or at least mine does.\u00a0 Squeezing productivity out of literally every second of the day isn&#8217;t that healthy either physically or mentally.\u00a0 Not to mention, stuff like taking care of yourself and giving your brain a chance to recharge IS productive.
